Preliminary Task - Conscience

Preliminary Task - filming

The filming process was difficult for our group. First of all it was easy and we record in one hour with good actors, though, we did not have time to upload them onto the computer. We tried the next morning but we were shocked to find the cameras were booked out, we then saw them the next week and our footage got deleted. (Baring in mind the deadline was the week before) Mr Sheppard told us to get one actor and use one of us as an actor as we did not have much time on our hands. The filming of the 2nd time was easy and we filmed it in 30 minutes, so we were back on track to everyone else.

I was the camera man while Chris was the Actor with Beth, i had the idea of what we were going to do so that it was quite quick, as we had already recorded before and had an idea of what to do. And it all went smoothly and had no problems with the actors, while we had to film a couple of scenes twice.

Preliminary Task - Update

The date of the 24th of November we were planning to book out the cameras, to our dispair we found out the cameras were all booked out for the week, on the 1st we then recorded with Carrie Ward and Ryan Wright as our Main actor that we wanted had a lesson, Both our wanted actors had 4 subjects at A level so that we could not find the time to record where we were all free. So by the 8th of December we booked out the cameras and the deadline had been past for when we had to record, we then quickly had one lesson to record what we can so we had something to present and we found two actors at the spot, one being Chris Howard, my partner as it was a last minute thing. The reason we had to record on the 8th and not use out images from the 1st of Decemeber is because we finished recording at 3.25 and we were going to upload our vidoes in the morning, when we got to see the cameras they were booked out and our previous videos were deleted.

Preliminary Task - Camera Skills

The camera skills that we have learnt in the workshop are vital and will help us acheive a 4 in media. This teaches us to learn what the benefits of using more than one camera are. It can help a with different angles and also make you get a scene from different perpectives. This will benefit from you getting a characters emotions in the clip and also you could do different shot types as a close up or a two scene. I have looked online and this image from google.com is the best way to help describe the multi camera rule and also the 180' rule.

Preliminary Task - Team work

During this task me and Chris both get along quite well so we thought it would be easy. When we were doing the script we both equally gave out ideas and both contributed our ideas and then made up a final idea that we both wanted a twist at the end, so it gets the audience wondering and then it has a final meaning towards it. Chris then done the storyboard and then i double checked it and was happy with the finalised product.

Script Exported

This is mine and Chris's script, I had an influence in this script, as we both choose the final idea together, Chris then wrote the 1ST copy and we both gave feedback to each other, which then lead to a 2ND and 3RD script, the script above is our 3RD and final edit.

Preliminary Task - Ideas

Here is our original ideas in our first lesson that we have got told about, as you can see we were interested in getting out production to have a twist at the end of it, so that by this it will get the audience to think about what has happened throughout which examples the Enigma code.

Preliminary Task - Diary update

Me and Chris recorded 5TH lesson on Thursday the 1ST December, from 2:25 - 3:25pm. As school had finished at 3:25pm and I had a bus to catch we returned the cameras and was going to upload our film in the morning, unfortunately when we got there the next day the camera we used had been hired out so we can not upload our work. We only used one camera because our first camera would not work, we started filming with our second camera, and then we got a third camera but also, that ran out of battery at around 2:50pm so we got stuck with 1 camera throughout.

Preliminary Task - Our idea

For the preliminary task our idea was to make the storyline interesting but also at the same time have a meaning to it, to get the audience thinking afterwards. We came up with several ideas but the one we decided to carry on with is that a boy leaves the classroom and forgets his book, he goes back into the classroom and suddenly a female appears in the background mysteriously, she then asks the male on how he feels of what he did, this will get the audience wondering what he has done and a classic example of the enigma code theory. The male will walk over to the female at the back of the classroom then a conversation between the two will occur, this will have an emotional feel to it as after a few questions the female starts crying, the male holds her hand and a flash back happens, when this happens the big twist at the end sets off which I shall not reveal.

Preliminary Task - Team

Today we got set our preliminary task to film a production of two people meeting, this production had to include a person going threw a door, walking across the room, and also having a conversation across a table with each other.
I got paired up with Chris Howard and in today's lesson we both were coming up with several ideas for our potential final idea. We both thought of good ideas, but we could not think of the best idea to get the audience thinking and have the biggest impact. After a while we both thought of 4 ideas with twists at the end, we just had to eliminate the ones we did not want to do, and get our finalised idea, which did not take long.
